Abstract
Considering the extreme importance of quick and reliable diagnosis of the actual condition of victims of bullet and shrapnel wounds, the issue of developing new medical technologies for this process is a very urgent task of the pre-operative period of their treatment and rehabilitation. In this sense, a new scientific approach is proposed, which is based on the use of statistical information that can be obtained from physical models of the process of passage of a penetrating object through substances that have physical properties similar to biological tissues. This work involves a comprehensive analysis of high-speed deformation and damage of a human soft tissue simulator under the penetrating impact of a firearm both by means of experimental full-scale ballistic tests and computer simulations. These studies are aimed at studying the patterns of internal wound ballistics and creating a methodology for predicting the volume of gunshot injuries for medical use.
