摘要

•Calprotectin has been linked to various inflammatory conditions including COVID-19.•However, serial measurements of serum calprotectin for monitoring COVID-19 are limited.•Our large cohort confirms baseline calprotectin as valuable marker of COVID-19 severity.•Calprotectin during course, was significantly and consistently associated with worst outcome.•Serum calprotectin can be used to improve outcome and strategies during COVID-19.
