With advancements in disease prevention and treatment, the United States (U.S.) is currently experiencing a long-awaited “Silver Tsunami”. U.S. Government Printing Office, Washington, DC2020 Google Scholar this number is expected to grow to over 20% by 2030, the time the last of the baby boom cohort reaches older adulthood, and well past 25% by 2060. Furthermore, the U.S. older adult population is becoming increasingly diverse with distinct needs that will continue to evolve as they age.
