Abstract
1H- and 4H-1,2,4-Triazoles have wide potent biological applications; therefore, developing new synthetic routes for such interesting scaffolds is of great importance. The synthetic platforms and reactions of the 1H- and 4H-1,2,4-triazole derivatives with different vital substituents at the nitrogen and/or carbon atoms during the recent years have been thoroughly investigated. This chapter includes all possible routes to monosubstituted, disubstituted, trisubstituted, and tetrasubstituted 1,2,4-triazole structures. The utility of the synthesized 1,2,4-triazoles as building blocks for preparation of potent biologically active compounds is also reported.
