Preparation and characterization of Ba0?6Sr0?4Ce1-xEuxO3-< /sub> solid electrolyte for IT-SOFCs

Sr,Eu co-doped Ba0 center dot 6Sr0 center dot 4Ce1-xEuxO3-delta(BSCE) powder were prepared by the solid-state method. The crystal structure, microstructure, and conductivity of BSCE were characterized using XRD, SEM,FT-IR, and electrochemical workstation. The research results indicate that ultrafine powder can be successfully prepared after calcination at 1000 degrees C for 10 h,and the powder has high sintering activity. After sintering at 1300 degrees C for 10 h,the BSCE sintered body was obtained with tightly bonded grains and clear grain boundaries,at 800 degrees C, the maximum ionic conductivity is above 9.3E-03 S cm(-1), and the activation energy as low as 0.98 eV.
