Abstract
•Structure and HER performance of ED and DGP Ir electrocatalysts were studied.•ED Ir catalyst exhibited a superior electrocatalytic activity, with a low Tafel slope of 34 mV·dec-1.•The electrocatalytic activities were in order of ED Ir > DGP Ir > ablation Ir catalysts.
