Abstract
•Simulation of Adiabatic Shear Band require size of the elements of the order of the band width.•A tabulated Taylor-Quinney coefficient allows to perform a temperature regularization.•The enhanced Johnson-Cook material model can simulate ASB with much larger element size.•The results were validated using full scale impact tests.
