Abstract
Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) is one of the most widely used echocardiography techniques in clinic. At present, most of the imaging systems of intracardiac echocardiography adopt the traditional beamforming method of phased array, that is, the lateral resolution near the focal point is higher. For phased array ICE, there is room for improvement in imaging quality at the far field of traditional phased array imaging method, in order to obtain deeper intracardiac structure. In this paper, we have proposed a new imaging method, i.e., compound angles phased array imaging method. This work is aimed at improving the imaging quality of ICE probe in the far field. The results of field II simulation show that the lateral resolution at the depth of 10 mm to 100 mm improved by 41% in average in comparison to traditional beamforming method of phased array.
