摘要
In the siting process to discover a suitable location for a Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) facility in Indonesia, diverse and enormous amounts of data were generated that need to be stored and managed. Currently, those data are still stored separately in different applications that have different database structures. This situation complicates the process of data analysis and comparison. International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) recommends the establishment of a site database containing the results of studies and monitoring of prospective NPP sites as a source of information in compiling recommendations for NPP sites in Indonesia. However, there are no specific rules or guidelines regarding the structure of the NPP site digital repository system, and the related references are limited. This research aims to develop an integrated NPP site studies repository system using a relational database to improve data accessibility to support future policy and decision making. Relational databases have been acknowledged as suitable with structured data as the IAEA has provided the list of data categories that should be contained in the database. This research follows the phase and key steps defined in the Waterfall Model of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to ensure the quality of software programs. The result of this study indicates that the relational-based database design is capable of integrating NPP site studies’ data from various locations into one application. Furthermore, the developed repository system also meets the requirements of the stakeholders to facilitate data management and data retrieval.
