Abstract
•In situ simulation (ISS) was used by 89.3% of respondents but those activities were not always realized regarding evidence-based practice.•There is a lack of training for team members acting as facilitators during the ISS activities.•Many benefits linked to ISS were perceived by the respondents, such as critical thinking skills improvement or team cohesiveness.•Factors limiting the use of ISS were identified such as lack of team availability, individual's willingness, organization's support, or the influence of actual context, associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
