A Leaf-Spring-Type Suspension Device for Compact Electromagnetic Vibrators

The suspension device is important in an electromagnetic vibrator to provide linear elastic support for the moving component. This paper describes the design and modeling of a leaf-spring-type suspension device which is suitable for a compact electromagnetic vibrator. The suspension device consists of multiple horizontal and lateral leaf springs. Theoretical analysis mainly focuses on the internal forces and deformations of the suspension device under load, which is verified by simulation. Besides, the influence of thicknesses of lateral and horizontal leaf springs on the stiffness linearity and the modals of the support device are analyzed through simulation. Simulation results indicate that the use of lateral leaf spring can improve the stiffness characteristic significantly.
