摘要
Layered hydroxide salt and layered double hydroxide intercalated respectively with molybdate (LHS-M) and gluconate (LDH-G) were used together for corrosion protection of carbon steel for the first time. Essays revealed that inhibitor release from LHS-M and LDH-G occurred in presence of chloride anions, within different timescales. Electrochemical studies performed for inhibitors, directly in solution and intercalated into the nanocontainers, showed that the protection of carbon steel can be tuned using the right ratio of inhibitors and nanocontainers. Coatings loaded with a mixture of the nanocontainers were applied on carbon steel plates and found to improve the anticorrosion performance, attributed to the inhibitors' action and chloride anions trapping.
