Fabrication and characterisation of random and aligned electrospun scaffolds to investigate hypothalamic stem/progenitor cell behaviour

•Tanycte-derived stem/progenitor cells cultured in vitro spontaneously differentiate.•Fiber properties can be controlled during manufacture to introduce aligned fibers.•Tanycyte-derived neurospheres can be cultured on electrospun scaffolds.•On aligned fibers neurospheres show higher expression of the stem cell marker, NrCAM.
