Formulation and Evolution of PV based Hybrid Electric Vehicle Charging Station Using High Gain Boost Converter

摘要
The objective of this paper is to formulate and progress a PV based hybrid electric vehicle (EV) charging station. The proposed charging stations are powered by both PV and grid. The system is constructed to charge EVs directly with the existence of solar energy, and switch to grid power in the absence of PV source. When there are no EVs on the charging station, the system will also provide solar power to the grid, effectively functioning as a grid-tie solar power plant. The process uses an isolated high gain step up converter to increase the voltage at output side which is input to the grid-tie inverter. The converter output is controlled by implementing MPPT and PI controller. The adequacy of the established hybrid charging station is illustrated through various simulation results.
