•Comparison between LMA® Gastro™ and Gastro-Laryngeal tube from the perspective of anesthesiologist, patient and the gastroenterologist.•First attempt success rates of both the devices during insertion were comparable.•LMA® Gastro™ performed better as an airway device during both normal as well as anticipated difficult airways.•Gastro-Laryngeal Tube scores above LMA® Gastro™ in terms of satisfaction rated by gastroenterologist.
