Abstract
•Photo-induced surface enhancement of Raman scattering (PIERS) was investigated.•Nanohybrid Ag-TiO2 materials with a 20 nm semiconducting film are suitable for PIERS.•All nanoplatforms showed a significant PIERS enhancement with a prolonged lifetime.•New PIERS substrates for analytical and photocatalytic applications were proposed.
