Abstract
Background: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) items are more and more adopted worldwide for oncologic surgery. However, no guidelines still exist about ERAS and Crohn’s disease. Furthermore, the role of laparoscopy alone, not associated to the whole perioperative ERAS protocol, in enhancing the recovery after surgery has not been established for Crohn’s disease. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the peculiarities in postoperative recovery adopting three different surgical approaches in elective ileocecal resection for Crohn’s disease.
