Abstract

•Novel phase transition reversible 3D printing method based on magnetic thixotropic fluids is reported.•The multi-material printing of core-shell structures is conducted through an optimized strategy.•A new form of soft robotics named as “rheobot” is proposed and fabricated.•Amoeboid locomotion is realized by the controlling of sol-gel transition of magnetic thixotropic fluids in soft robotics.
