Abstract
•Nature-based solutions (NBS) are promising extreme heat mitigation strategies.•This study investigates the effectiveness of NBS in three Canadian regions.•NBS is evaluated by albedo cooling (ACE) and vegetation cooling effectiveness (VCE).•NBS is most effective in Vancouver with average ACE of 9.8°C and VCE of 5.1°C.
