Gel polymer electrolyte based on polymer matrix of hydroxyethyl cellulose composite lignocellulose

Abstract
A kind of gel polymer electrolyte (GPE) based on a matrix of hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) composite lignocellulose (LC) for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with relatively good performances is prepared. The composite membrane containing 5 wt% HEC possesses excellent comprehensive performances, including high electrolyte uptake of 425 wt% and favourable thermal properties. At room temperature, the ionic conductivity is 2.68 × 10 –3 S cm –1 . Moreover, the lithium-ion transference number is 0.5, the GPE exhibits an electrochemical stability window of 5.4 V and favourable compatibility with electrode and cycling performance.
