Short- and mid-term comparison of aortic-related reinterventions in acute Type A dissections treated with a Frozen Elephant Trunk or a classical arch replacement

The long-term prognosis of Type A acute aortic dissection (TAADs) is dependent on the course of the descending thoracic aorta and subsequent reinterventions. We compared the impact of extensive repair with an elephant trunk procedure during the initial procedure, versus conventional aortic arch surgery, on the remodeling and reoperations on the descending thoracic aorta.
