Geochronology and petrogeochemistry of Miocene porphyries from the Beimulang deposit, western Gangdese copper belt

•The mineralization at Beimulang might be related to the Miocene monzogranite porphyry.•The monzogranite and granite porphyries at Beimulang were derived from the subduction- modified juvenile lower crust.•The mineralization process at Beimulang was influenced by hydrous high-Mg dioritic magmas.•The granite porphyry's low mineralization potential stems from its limited juvenile melt input and lack of high-Mg dioritic magmas.
