•Flat foot is categorized into two types: Flexible Flat Foot (FFF) and Rigid Flat Foot.•There are few quantitative studies on mechanical analysis or pre and postoperative kinematic changes in FFF.•CLO is the most physiologic procedure for treating FFF.
