A novel data acquisition approach for valves in industrial refrigeration

•Data acquisition and transmission of critical parameters from valves used in industrial refrigeration.•Local intelligence is imparted to the valves.•Position, pressure and temperature sensors are the target sensor for the data acquisition module.•Mobile app is developed for android users, the transmitted valve parameters are received through the app and monitored using mobile phone.•The proposed data acquisition and transmission module is tested real time in Danfoss industries for the helium gas flow rate and the valve parameters are monitored in using the mobile phone.
