The reduced incidence of respiratory viral infections in transplant recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic – A retrospective observational cross-sectional analysis of admissions to a tertiary haematology unit

•There was a significant drop in the circulation of non-SARS-CoV-2 RVIs in haematology transplant recipients during the COVID-19 pandemic.•The most common viral pathogen was rhinovirus, followed by parainfluenza 3, adenovirus, and RSV.•Infection prevention and control measures are vital to reduce the risk of nosocomial transmission of RVIs and SARS-CoV-2 in transplant recipients.
