摘要
The effect of magnetic fields on the corrosion mechanism of LaFe13.9Si1.4 alloys, which were under paramagnetic states was investigated via immersion tests under controlled magnetic field conditions, and numerous analytical techniques. The results indicate that the presence of magnetic fields have a significant effect on the corrosion rate, morphology, and products, which may be due to the magnetohydrodynamics. Immersion in magnetic fields of 1 T for 72 h resulted in a significant reduction of the corrosion rate. The corrosion morphology showed cluster-like, specific striation, and mesh-like patterns for zero and 1 T (parallel and perpendicular) magnetic fields, respectively.
