Native American youth have low access to culturally appropriate mental health and wellness support. Native youth have the highest rates of youth suicide. Recent studies show the high rates of deaths of despair in Native families, reflecting the need for increasing access to culturally appropriate mental health care and support within Native families. Those providing support to Native youth are often isolated and in need of additional training in providing culturally appropriate care.
