摘要
State cannabis laws (CL) are changing rapidly and have contributed to shifting cannabis use patterns among US youth over the past 20 years. Cannabis legalization has been framed by some groups as social justice reform, but may have unintended downstream effects on US youth that vary by race and ethnicity. In particular, suicide-related outcomes are rising among US youth (particularly for minoritized racial and ethnic groups) and are associated with cannabis use. In the present study, we examined associations between enactment of medical CL (MCL) and recreational CL (RCL) and changes in suicide-related mortality by race and ethnicity in US youth aged 12 to 25 years.
