摘要
General child and adolescent psychiatry clinics often begin services at 6 years of age, despite the existence of a plethora of evidence-based assessments and treatments for children under 6 years. There is a growing need for young child clinics specifically tailored to offer the full spectrum of services including prevention, assessment, and treatment for children 0 to 6 years old. Clinics should provide services that integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of their infrastructure. There are numerous ways in which such clinics can be structured, and there is a variety of state, foundation, and insurance funding mechanisms for young child clinics. While there is no one recipe for how to create a young child-parent clinic, this Clinical Perspectives will present several examples of successful, functioning clinics in the United States.
