Abstract
Thermal additive centrifugal abrasive flow machining (TACAFM) process is a recent hybrid of the abrasive flow machining process, which combines the advantage of a centrifugal force-assisted abrasive flow machining process along with the material removal capability of the spark electro-discharge machining. The present work involves the parametric investigations of the TACAFM process using a novel spline shape electrode with a curved blade on percentage improvement in the surface finish (%Δ R a ) and material removal. The investigations include the modelling and simulations of flow parameters on Ansys Fluent and analysing experimental results using the artificial neuron network approach. The optimal values of the parameters are also computed using the artificial neuron network-coupled genetic algorithm (ANN-GA) approach. The simulated results satisfy the experimental and predicted effects of the ANN-GA. The SEM images justify the validity of the TACAFM process of the proposed electrode.
