Abstract
Due to the increase of renewable energy generation, different energy storage systems have been developed, leading to the study of different materials for the elaboration of batteries energy systems. This paper presents a brief review of the main technologies developed around secondary batteries such as lead-acid batteries, lithium ion batteries, sodium and nickel ion batteries, emphasizing the interest of the storage system, its main characteristics for operation at the positive and negative electrode level, its performance, efficiency ranges and its main disadvantages.
