Abstract
•Type of Research: Single center retrospective cohort study.•Key Findings: Early restenosis following transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) was associated with patient age, history of neck irradiation, and prior ipsilateral endarterectomy. The only technical factor identified associated with early restenosis was lack of post-deployment angioplasty with no increase in neurologic complications. Surveillance imaging was often discrepant between studies over time and between different modalities.•Take home Message: Early restenosis was associated with lack of post-deployment angioplasty following transcarotid artery revascularization, which may be an underutilized technique. Surveillance imaging can have significant variability and further consideration is warranted regarding best practices in these patients.
