摘要
Search for new fluorophoric platforms is of great demand for the efficient identification as well as quantification of various metal ions and anions. In this regard, bisphenol A could be a promising fluorophore. Formylation on bisphenol A results 'bisphenol A dialdehyde' i.e. 5,5 & PRIME;-(propane-2,2-diyl)bis(2-hydroxybenzaldehyde) which has two -CHO groups for further reactions with suitable amine compounds. This gives an excellent opportunity to prepare a number of chemosensors. In this article, we have summarized and discussed chemosensors, which are derived from bisphenol A dialdehyde, for the detection of metal ions and simple inorganic anions. Binding of metal ions with the complementary donor atoms also plays significant role. This article will give all the required information on bisphenol A derived chemosensors published so far at fingertips and help to design future chemosensors for efficient detection of metal cations and anions.
