Vegetation types and rainfall regimes impact on surface runoff and soil erosion over 10 years in karst hillslopes

•143 erosive rainfall events were considered during 10 years in a karst area.•Runoff and soil loss under 8 vegetation types were observed.•Vegetation type and rainfall regime greatly influence runoff and soil loss.•Economic fruit forest had great potential for soil and water loss control.
