The Digitization of Klissova Islet and the Church of Agia Triada in Mesologgi.

The research portrayed in this paper aims to digitize the islet of Klissova and its monuments which consist of the church of Agia Triada and a memorial obelisk, in the Mesologgi region of Greece. The objectives of the digitization are the documentation, monitoring and the documentation of current preservation state of the islet and the monuments since they are highly endangered by the surrounding environment. The surrounding natural landscape is a lagoon ecosystem of high salinity which threatens the integrity of the cultural structures of the islet through rising water level, increased humidity and salinity. The development of a 3D model of the church and the islet stands as an essential tool for future sampling and restoration of the monuments. The digitization process was utilized with an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, a GNSS receiver, and a Terrestrial Laser Scanner for high accuracy of the final model.
