摘要
The advancement of Internet of Things (IoT) based infrastructure has opened new doors for offering various intelligent environments. However, the application of the IoT to the evolving Smart Aging Care Systems (SACS) poses new privacy and security challenges concerning confidentiality, authenticity, and integrity of the generated instructions and data exchanged by IoT modules. Because of the age factor of older adults residing in SACS facilities, the security challenges in this IoT ecosystem have become extremely sensitive and vulnerable to many threats. Considering the inhabitants' limitations, we found less evidence of work evaluating the security risk in SACS. This article applies the operationally critical threat, asset, and vulnerability evaluation (OCTAVE) methodology, known as OCTAVE Allegro, to assess the security risks of SACS. Out of twenty-five examined risks, five are classified as critical, three as high, ten as low, and seven are deemed as medium. Our research can be used as a cornerstone to assess security risks in SACS.
