Hydrazine sulfonic acid, NH2NHSO3H, the bigger sibling of sulfamic acid.
Chemistry (Weinheim an der Bergstrasse, Germany)(2023)
Abstract
The reaction of hydrazine hydrate, N2H4·H2O, and SO3 leads to hydrazine sulfonic acid. The structure elucidation reveals the zwitteranionic nature of the compound according to NH3-NH-SO3. With the barium salt Ba[NH2NH(SO3)]2(H2O) a first salt of hydrazine sulfonic acid has been prepared. The compounds were characterized by vibrational spectroscopy, DFT calculations and thermal analyses.
