Comparison of music medicine intervention and visual imagery techniques and conventional treatment alone on preoperative anxiety among children undergoing surgery - A Randomized Control Trial

•First three arm RCT compared music, visual imagery technique and conventional treatment on preoperative anxiety in children.•Both music medicine and visual imagery technique were better than conventional treatment in reducing preoperative anxiety.•Music medicine appeared to have more effect than visual imagery therapy, but the difference was not significant.
