Meson Photoproduction Experiments At Elph, Tohoku University

Meson photoproduction experiments have been conducted with an electromagnetic (EM) calorimeter FOREST at Research Center for Electron Photon Science (ELPH), Tohoku University. A narrow resonance observed at W = 1670 MeV in eta photoproduction on the neutron is of great interest, which is a candidate of an anti-decuplet pentaquark baryon although its origin is still controversial. The preliminary results of the cross sections for pi(0) and eta photoproduction on the deuteron are presented. The next generation FOREST experiments have been planned to study S-11(1535) properties in the nuclear medium by searching for eta-mesic nucleus states. The planned experiments are also shown in this contribution.
