Research on Flexible Measurement System Based on Line-Scan Laser Cameras

With the development of manufacturing industry, the application of product inspection and measurement technology based on machine vision has become more extensive. In this paper, an efficient and convenient flexible measurement system is designed for the measurement scene in the industrial assembly line production, which realizes the flexible scanning work through two line-scan laser cameras with adjustable angles installed on linear guide rails. The calibration algorithm of line-scan laser camera based on the spherical calibration object is used to realize the hand-eye calibration of a single line-scan laser camera and the calibration work among multiple line-scan laser cameras. Therefore, according to the calibration results, the two-dimensional (2D) profile images are stitched to obtain a more complete three-dimensional (3D) point cloud image of the object. Experiments are carried out and the results verify that the measurement system is flexible and convenient, which also has the advantages of high precision and work efficiency.
