Abstract
This paper proposes a method for numerical simulation and performance prediction. Firstly, hypermesh software is used to divide the internal fluid domain of the cooling water pump into an unstructured mesh. Then, the WQL cooling water pump is numerically simulated by using the computational fluid dynamics method. Finally, the distribution of performance parameters such as pump head, pressure, and turbulent kinetic energy are obtained. According to the calculation results, the pump’s performance is analysed and predicted, and the predicted head, efficiency, and power change trends align with the general laws of its performance characteristics. It shows that using CFD for fluid mechanical design can significantly reduce the cost of experiments and shorten the cycle of experiments. It has a specific reference value for engineers and technicians engaged in fluid machinery design.
