Abstract
Two species of thrips, Rhipiphorothrips concoloratus Zhang and Tong and Trichromothrips antidesmae Li, Li and Zhang, under the family Thripidae are recorded new to India. The diagnostic characters of both the species are discussed. In addition, Euphysothrips minozzii Bagnall of the family Thripidae is redescribed with illustrations based on the specimens collected on an agriculturally important new host plant, Groundnut. The hypothesis of E. minozzii being associated with fungus is discussed. The partial sequence data of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase (mtCOI) for E. minozzii is generated and submitted to the Barcode of Life Data System (BOLD). The generated barcode sequence of the species is a novel contribution in global database.
