On the imperfect interface of a functionally graded thermoelectric layered structure

•A FGTE layered half-plane’s frictionless contact behavior is investigated.•The dislocation-like imperfect interface condition is considered.•The normal electric density on the surface and within the FGTE layer are obtained.•As imperfect indices decrease, the contact stress within the contact area decreases.•As the shear modulus varies, the contact stress does not change monotonically.
