摘要
Previous studies have linked fine suspended particulate matter (PM2.5) to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease such as atherosclerosis. Herein, we examined different forms of air pollution PM2.5: (i) diesel emission particles, (ii) microabraded hot rolled train track iron and iron oxide particles and (iii) magnetite nanoparticles, and their potential to activate oxidative stress and inflammation in endothelial cells. We also examined their effects in murine hearts exposed to the different PM2.5.
