Cardiac transplantation is a highly effective treatment for end-stage heart disease. Eligibility assessment frequently requires coronary angiography of the donor heart. However, if the referring hospital is not capable of performing this test, a potentially suitable heart is declined. Epicardial coronary ultrasound during organ procurement is a potential alternative.
