Automatic aid diagnosis report generation for lumbar disc MR image based on lightweight artificial neural networks

•The lightweight segmentation artificial neural network in proposed method has high performance with very few parameters;•The dimensionality reduction algorithm of proposed method could effectively remove task-irrelevant pixels of spine MR images;•With low computational consumption, proposed generation method could generate aid diagnostic report of lumbar discs in Chinese language.
