Anticipating APIs solubility in natural eutectic solvents: Lidocaine and caffeine case studies

•COSMO-RS predictions analysis performed over a wide set of reported APIs solubility values.•Eutectic solvent screening calculations carried out to identify enhanced APIs solubility systems.•Identified new eutectic solvents-APIs combinations showing higher experimental lidocaine and caffeine solubilities.•New eutectic solvents characterized in terms of density and viscosity.
