24 implementation of agile methodologies in mobile application development for inexperienced programmers

The number of mobile applications has increased considerably in the last ten years, and much more in the last three as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. Therefore, it is crucial for the software industry to take into account an ideal production to obtain high quality mobile software, as more and more experts are needed every year to meet the global demand. In this environment, it is essential to use appropriate methodologies for the development of short-term projects, such as mobile applications, whose requirements are constantly changing. In addition, having developers who know how to use these methodologies is crucial to develop high quality applications that will last a long time in the market. A literature and field study was conducted with the objective of analyzing the various agile development methodologies that currently exist and assessing how suitable these methodologies are for novice programmers developing mobile applications. The study focused on final year students of universities in the central region of Ecuador that offer careers in information systems and software. The scope of the study is descriptive-explanatory, and in order to obtain the necessary data, methods of bibliographic analysis and surveys were used, such as the content analysis register and the closed-question questionnaire.
