•The Dubravinsky complex consists of alkaline pyroxenite, carbonatite and syenite.•The carbonatite and alkaline rocks have undergone amphibolite facies metamorphism.•The Dubravinsky carbonatite complex is most likely 2.07–2.08 Ga-old.•The alkaline pyroxenites and carbonatites source could be enriched SCLM protoliths.•The Dubravinsky complex is the first sign of the modern style deep subduction.
