Resumption of water capsule reactivity-initiated accident testing at TREAT

•Water-based reactivity initiated accident testing of light water reactor fuel rods in the Transient REActor Test facility.•In-pile experiments along with post-transient examinations of the rodlets provide validation data for BISON fuel performance code.•Post-transient examinations confirmed that the experiment results are consistent with historic data in literature and the expected results based on the commissioning test models.
